Available-Maneuvering-Margins-Based Ship Collision Alert System

چکیده

The timing of a ship taking evasive maneuvers is crucial for the success collision avoidance, which affected by perceived risk navigator. Therefore, we propose alert system (CAS) based on navigator to trigger ship’s in timely manner avoid close-quarters situations. available maneuvering margins (AMM) with stability guarantees are selected as proxy reflect navigator; hence, proposed CAS referred an AMM-based CAS. Considering dynamic nature operations, non-linear velocity obstacle method utilized identify presence further activate this AMM measured maneuverability and models, degree they violate risk-perception-based domain determines level alert. Several typical encounter scenarios from AIS data demonstrate feasibility promising results suggest that applicable both pair multi-vessel scenarios. Collision can be accurately detected, then consistent severity issued. This has potential assist autonomous ships understanding situation determining maneuvers. advantages limitation discussed.

Effects of Ship Motion on Ship Maneuvering in Waves

Ship maneuvering performance is typically predicted in calm water conditions. This provides very valuable information at the initial ship design stage. However, since the ship always sails in waves, the maneuvering performance of the ship in seaway may be significantly different from calm water condition. Therefore, if the effect of waves and the corresponding motion responses can be included i...

An FLIR Video Surveillance System to Avoid Bridge - Ship Collision

In this paper, a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) video surveillance system is presented for collision avoidance of moving ships to bridge piers. An image pre-processing algorithm is proposed to reduce clutter noises by multi-scale fractal analysis, in which the blanket method is used for fractal feature computation. Then, the moving ship detection algorithm is developed from image differentials...

A CBR-Based Approach for Ship Collision Avoidance

In this paper, we propose a novel CBR-based approach for ship collision avoidance. After the introduction of the CBR-based decision-making support, we present two abstraction principles, selecting view points and describing granularity, to create collision avoidance cases from real-time navigation data. Several issues related case creation and CBR-based decisionmaking support are discussed in d...

Ship Collision Avoidance Using Scenario-Based Model Predictive Control ?

A set of alternative collision avoidance control behaviors are parameterized by two parameters: Offsets to the guidance course angle commanded to the autopilot, and changes to the propulsion command ranging from nominal speed to full reverse. Using predictions of the trajectories of the obstacles and ship, the compliance with the COLREGS rules and collision hazards associated with the alternati...

A Novel Ship-Bridge Collision Avoidance System Based on Monocular Computer Vision

The study aims to investigate the ship-bridge collision avoidance. A novel system for ship-bridge collision avoidance based on monocular computer vision is proposed in this study. In the new system, the moving ships are firstly captured by the video sequences. Then the detection and tracking of the moving objects have been done to identify the regions in the scene that correspond to the video s...
